How NLP Can Help You in Sales!

without comments

Who do you prefer to buy from? The pushy salesperson who talks at you or the person who takes the time to discover your needs and then helps you find the best match for these? Not a difficult choice, is it? Winning business in todayâ??s tough market can be challenging. In order to win you need to leverage all of the available sales tactics and strategies that will open doors and win business. Using NLP in your sales presentation is one way of leveraging sales opportunities. However, chances are that many of those who first come across NLP wonder what it is all about, even if it appears in the context of influencing human behavior through the adoption and practice of certain established techniques and procedures. Actually, NLP stands for Neuro-linguistic Programming, where â??neuroâ?? is something related to both mind and body, â??linguisticâ?? is about language patterns or structures and â??programmingâ?? is devising ways and means of coordinating mind, body and language for shaping behavior so as to achieve better results than before in various walks of life. In a sense, NLP can help you in many ways, if only you get to know its techniques and how to use them for your benefit. When you apply NLP in selling you have a high chance of increasing your customer satisfaction rating and your repeat business. As well as increasing sales it enables you to ensure that your products or services are a good match with your customers needs. Learn to get rid of your sales phobias You can get rid of your sales phobias, if any, by going into the factors that cause your fear in the first place, with the help of NLP techniques. You can use NLP successfully in your selling to gain an unfair advantage over your competition. Use correctly it can direct the action of others in a subtle but effective way. By making what was once called “subliminal suggestions”, it is possible to help a person think about owning the product or service before you even offer a trial close. You can also command a person to TALK to you when conducting cold calling or telemarketing presentation. NLP techniques help you to understand the power of matching, mirroring and pacing which will have a dramatic effect on your sales presentation. â?¢ Direct face- to-face selling â?¢ Client interviews to get information â?¢ Voice-mail messages so they are answered or remembered â?¢ Survey calls to generate interest â?¢ Cold-call interviews with prospects â?¢ Letters, memos, or conversations to influence â?¢ Direct mail or brochures to create interest â?¢ Telemarketing to open more doors â?¢ Formal presentations to sell an idea â?¢ Information to help keep a prospect interested Do you need to use NLP techniques all of the time? No. You only use them as and when you need them. For example: You use them when you are not happy with your sales results.

What is Consultative Selling?

without comments

Consultative selling sales training courses are becoming increasingly popular. Even other sales training classes and sales coaching classes are offering consultative selling as a part of the curriculum. So, what is consultative selling? As any of these sales training courses will tell you consultative selling is a type of selling in which the selling is based on customer needs rather. It is a non-manipulative process. The focus here is not on product. Instead a clientâ??s need is clearly defined and the clientâ??s needs and objectives are addressed jointly. So, what is the difference between traditional selling and consultative selling? As any sales coaching manual or sales training manual will tell you in simple words, traditional selling is based on the need to sell an already existing product whereas in consultative selling the emphasis is on meeting the needs of a customer by developing a solution to those needs. This solution can be a product or a service or a combination of both. In traditional selling the sales person has to explain the features of the existing product or service and convince the customer that they need these features. In effect traditional selling is manipulative whereas consultative selling is the opposite. The sales person has to wait till the end of the presentation to know whether a person is going to buy his product or not in traditional selling. In consultative selling this problem is not there. You go for any sales training courses or sales coaching classes you will here these words â??Customer is kingâ?. This is true for consultative selling as well. The difference is that you first get to know your customer before you develop a product. This is especially important if your company is offering financial services. Knowing the client will also help you in assessing the financial well being of the company. To do this you should be able to ask the correct questions and to listen to the person at the opposite end. For instance if you are offering financial solutions some of the questions could be â?¢ How many years have you been investing? â?¢ What types of investments have you purchased before (for example, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and variable or fixed annuities)? Do not ask open ended questions initially rather ask questions that are useful for information gathering. Later you can ask more open ended questions. At this stage you are not expected to offer an opinion and it is best you donâ??t. This is only the preliminary stage. Many sales training courses try to make consultative selling sound as though it is a panacea to all evils. It is not a magic potion that is going to make your company profit rise in laps and bounds. There will be a difference but it will take time. A good sales training course will tell you this. It will also tell you that however hard you have worked to satisfy the customer by designing a solution that is suitable to the clients need; the client is going to have some objections to the plan. It is a part of the game. Clients may feel that the investment that they are required to make is not commensurate with the solution that they will be getting. They might have some preconceived notions about certain type of products. They might be hesitant about committing to a program. How can you deal with them? The best way to deal with this is to restate them. This will make the clients explain why they have the objections. Once the objections are clear you can address them. Sometimes, as the client explains his/her objection he/she might realize that the objections are not valid ones and they might just withdraw them. The most important part is the actual implementation of a solution. This is the time when the customer starts getting doubts as he/she starts getting unsolicited advice from well wishers. So, it is imperative to ensure that you are to see to it that the process doesnâ??t get derailed. If you get a chance to attend a sales training course or sales coaching course that offers consultative selling, donâ??t hesitate, just go ahead and make maximum use of it. Remember to make hay while the sun shines.

Modern Characteristics of Leadership

without comments

Quality leadership includes planning the companyâ??s activity, securing effective control of business processes, managing different projects and agreements, as well as all kinds of information concerning companyâ??s activity. It is worth mentioning that one of the most important factors influencing the efficiency of a companyâ??s activity is the rate of information spread, as well as quality of documentation.

It is necessary for top managers to be highly qualified, competent and able to ensure a companyâ??s development. However, it is also important to remember that, though the development of a companyâ??s strategy, goals and tasks is the obligation and privilege of a companyâ??s top-management, the realisation of these strategies is up to the companyâ??s workers of all levels. If personnel lack concrete strategic goals, as well as motivation, they are likely not to coordinate their actions with the companyâ??s global goals. Moreover, control of personnel is also vital in order to make sure they work effectively.

But as for this control, it is important not to go too far. All these control mechanisms derive from natural human fears such as â??our fear of one another, of a harsh competitive world, and of the natural processes of growth and change that confront us daily. Years of such fear have resulted in these byzantine systems. We never effectively control people with these systems, but we certainly stop a lot of good work from getting doneâ?.

What does she offer instead? First of all, leaders should believe people who work for their companies. Their approach should become more trustful, self-organizing, and participative, and it results in employeesâ?? becoming more concerned about companyâ??s prosperity.

The second condition for successful leadership is to introduce changes in the companyâ??s system, however this should be done following some concrete strategy.

IT Support Companies

without comments

We are an IT support business based in London, and seasonal changes have a large impact on our business. Coping with seasonal changes within a business can be tricky. You may find yourself with resourcing issues (too many or too few staff). Or experience peak and troughs in your customers demands. Here are a couple of points I’ve tried in the past – hope they help! 1. Ensure your staff holidays/training are, as practicable as possible, in line with the trend of customers so you are not over (or under) resourced. This helps maintain service-levels (because staff are therefore available later in the year when there is sufficient customer demand). 2. Push activity out of busy periods, into the quieter periods. Again smoothing resource demands. This helps keeping salary costs in-line with revenues, and service levels are maintained. 3. Perform marketing activities (offers, discounts) if acted upon within December (or other holiday season). 4. Use last years performance statistics to estimate the impact on your business this year. 5. If possible, try to keep your marketing topical (i.e. on the lines of what your audience is likely to be thinking…. for Christmas: presents, holidays, parties). 6. Outsource some of your services, and run a skeleton staff over the Christmas period. (e.g. If you run a small helpdesk, outsource this temporarily) 7. Enable staff to work from home. Sometimes its cheaper to pay an on-call rate than keep your office manned. 8. Survey your customers likely needs over the Christmas period. Provide them incentives to encourage them to make a decisive purchasing decision. 9. Look for alternative revenue streams whose seasonal demands compliment your current streams. (e.g. Sell headache tablets!) 10. Restrict your service-offering, informing customers of the services available over the quieter period. IT Support

Do You Make These 10 Mistakes With Cost Benefit Analysis?

without comments

Financial decisions are very important to the health of any company. So it is critical that decisions are made using the best techniques available. Cost Benefit Analysis is designed to help you make the best financial decisions possible.

Now let’s dive right in and list them out shall we?

Mistake #1: Not thinking widely enough to explore all feasible options.

First, a note about benefits – if you can provide a solution that provides more benefits than the current process, then not only do you benefit (hopefully in practical and emotional ways) but also the company profits, so do the shareholders and so does the economy. If more of these positive benefit decisions were being made daily by more and more people then we would all be better off!

It is human nature to want to think about the problem quickly, get to an answer (instead of a list of good answers) as soon as possible and move on.

This is the MAIN mistake that needs to be addressed before launching into the rest of the mistakes.

For Example: If a decision is to be made regarding the company’s business systems, close study would need to be given to ensure all feasible software providers were involved. Not only would you need to look at software providers but also hardware sources and bureau services. Also, will the future direction of the business mean that simply replacing â??like with likeâ? be suitable? Also is the â?do nothingâ? option viable?

Mistake #2: Not using â??Cradle to Graveâ? timeframe.

As the term implies, all costs and benefits associated with the project from the time the analysis begins (â??birthâ?) to the sale (â??deathâ?) of the asset must be included. If this process is neglected, costs such as sale of assets and/or disposal of assets, site cleanup and site re-instatement may be omitted from the calculations that could provide an erroneous result (and maybe embarrassment to you as the project champion). In addition, this provides for all â??birthâ? costs, such as new asset purchase costs, transport costs, site preparation costs and the sale of the old asset to be included in calculations. Don’t neglect these – they can make a huge difference to the outcome.

Mistake #3: Not using Net Present Value to take account of the Time Value of Money.

Typically the life of the assets, or the decision being made, have an impact over more than 1 year. This is usually 3 – 5 years (computers, software, factory machinery), 20 years for some large electrical equipment and even up to 100 years for underground pipes as used in water and sewer reticulation.

As you would know, and as Howard Hughes said in 1937, â??A million dollars is not what it used to beâ?. This is because inflation, year by year, reduces the buying power of the dollar causing us to spend more each year to purchase the same item. So it is with projects whose life span is more than one year.

(Let’s say, that the interest rate is 5%, you would only need to deposit about $95 today to get $100 next year. Economists would say that, at a 5% discount rate, $100 next year has a present value of $95.) For longer periods of time, and/or higher discount rates, the effect is magnified.

Costs and benefits that occur in year 3 or 4 of the project would not have the same impact as if they occurred in year 1. There is a function within Excel that accounts for this so there is no real need to concern yourself with it too much here.

Suffice to say that transactions further into the future have less of a dollar impact than the current transactions. This must be included in your calculations.

Mistake #4: Including other than CASH transactions in the Costs and Benefits calculations.

Some practitioners use accounting terminologies such as Depreciation, Accruals or Deferrals in their Cost Benefit models. This is not correct. We are only dealing with the cash costs and benefits. This keeps the model:

- Easy to understand for non-accountants
- Free from any artificial spreading of costs and income that are not really
related to the period

It is important that the cash flow of costs and benefits are shown in the years they actually occur – since moving them into other years can increase or decrease their value due to the time value of money as discussed above. (A cash transaction occurs when there is a monetary transaction – either outflow or receipt.)

Mistake #5: Not considering the â??Do Nothingâ? option.

Just because an asset is ageing or in need of repair, it does NOT necessarily mean that a replacement is the best use of the available resources. It could well be that this option continues to be the most feasible option. This option should always be considered and accounted for when thinking of ALL feasible options.

Mistake #6: Forgetting to include non-financial Costs and Benefits.

There are many benefits and costs that can be part of the decision process, which really do not have hard quantifiable values. Some of these could be:

- The cost of a human life (e.g. saved by installing traffic lights a school crossing)
- Damming of a river and the loss of habitat of many flora and fauna species
- Extra noise created as a result of road relocation
- Increasing obesity of school children and poor health outcomes

Another example of non-financial costs and benefits could be political affiliations/expediency that could sway a decision even though the Cost Benefit model shows this to be a less beneficial option than other options.

Mistake #7: Thinking that Cost Benefit Analysis is THE solution to the problem.

Cost Benefit Analysis and NPV are tools or techniques that assist in the decision or judgement. These processes are not an end in themselves. They are part of a suite of tools that /engineers/accountants/managers/business owners can call upon to assist in the making the final decision.

Mistake #8: Adding in Sunk Costs on the projects prior to the Cost Benefit Analysis being undertaken.

Costs that have been expended are NOT to be included since these have been made outside the view of your analysis. You cannot go back in time to add in past costs, only deal in the current and the future, as best you can.

Mistake #9: Not delivering on savings promised in the Cost Benefit Analysis proposal.

I have seen many Cost Benefit Analyses where the purchase of new computers or machinery has relied on (at least to some extent) the savings in labour. This is all well and good.

The project champion has ensured that ALL the labour costs were included (eg annual leave, superannuation, health care costs, public holidays and other loadings) but once the project had received the go-ahead he/she has omitted to make the labour savings by making the labour redundant or finding these employees gainful employment in other parts of the organization.

Another example is when machine hours have projected savings shown in the Cost Benefit Analysis model but due to internal politics the changes to operating procedures were not implemented once the project was implemented.

You will notice when building a Cost Benefit model that the Costs are reasonably easy to calculate since most of them have quoted prices or contracts etc. on which to rely. It is the Benefits that will cause most discussion and these need to be tied down tightly prior to the go-ahead being given.

It is really important to be certain of all your assumptions so that you can confidently argue the merits (and drawbacks) of the project.

Mistake #10: Not performing a Project Completion Review during the life of the project once it is implemented.

Unless this step is taken any lessons to be learned either by you or the organization are lost. Yes, it may cause some embarrassment if not all the benefits were not realised and some costs came in at more than planned. But that is not as important as repeating these â??sinsâ? again and again on subsequent projects. Make this part of the corporate culture and you will notice an improvement over time to your benefit and the benefit of the company and the economy.

Legitimate Authentic Designer Handbags

without comments

Get Rich Quick Scams Revealed Read this article before you consider paying for a “get rich quick” program. From: Authentic Designer Handbags Everybody would love to make lots of money quickly, working from home, and only doing a few hours of work per week. I’ve spent the past two years trying to find a great way of doing this. Only over the course of the past few months have I found any “get rich quick” programs worth buying. I’ve been trying to make money online for a long time. I had a few small websites, but they never made much more than a few hundred per month. It was easy money and didn’t require much work on my part, but I knew there were people out there doing better than I was and I knew I could do as well as them. Now, I’ve seen a lot of “get rich quick” programs. Most of these people make claims about earning $2000/day with Google or something similarly insane. Almost all of these people are complete liars. Even if they were making $2000/day with Google AdSense, it’d be because they had high- traffic websites with a lot of quality content. I’d know, because in one whole month, I never even made half of what they promised I’d make daily with their programs. Maybe you’ve already been scammed by one of these fraudsters. Anyway, I finally got sick of what was being offered. I decided I’d look through the all of the “get rich quick” programs I could find and see if there were any that were actually legitimate. I found that there were owners selling their programs for well over $100, but the information in them could be found almost anywhere online for free. Additionally, they all contained out-of-date information, had no e-mail support, no money back guarantees, and broken links in the downloads section. In conclusion, almost all of the programs I found were completely useless. The owners knew it, but they couldn’t care less about their customers since they didn’t offer refund policies! Amazingly, while looking through all of the programs, I actually did find a few legitimate programs. They were run by ordinary people like you and me, and they had found some great methods of making money from their home by doing very little work. I spent some time working with those programs, and my income is now ten times what it used to be. These programs provided a large amount of great information on how to make extra money on your computer doing very little work. Numerous customers had provided great feedback and reviews for their products. Many of them have started to make money just days after buying! Their programs have excellent prices, and the authors have a group of paid staff who are dedicating to helping you or providing assistance if you need any. I must say I was amazed! If you do decide to purchase any of the programs listed below, I recommend you join quickly. Most of the owners tell me they are getting an overwhelming number of sales and plan on raising prices in the near future, so order while prices are still low! What Kind Of Shoes Do you Wear To A Beach Wedding?

without comments

What Kind Of Shoes Do you Wear To A Beach Wedding?
By Charly Nguyen
With another Valentineâ??s Day come and gone, the American consumer consciousness turns toward the next phase in the annual series of holidays and special occasions- and the gifts that go along with them. For the engaged and for those wish to be, itâ??s time to prepare for wedding season! Whatâ??s that you ask? No itâ??s not too early. In fact, most any bridal planner will tell you that if you plan to get married this June you had better have booked the DJ last October.
For those of us who canâ??t afford the services of a personal bridal consultant, or who prefer the â??letâ??s-do-it-ourselves,â? method, there are many bridal and wedding websites available for pulling off a wedding with professional polish. Ranging in topic from unique ideas for the reception to appropriate wardrobe recommendations for the mother of the bride, the content of these bridal sites is designed to provide some preliminary ideas for the ceremony to the newly engaged, and spells out in step-by-step detail the practical components for those taking the plunge.
If youâ??ve ever thought about getting married, youâ??ve realized that this one day will mark and be remembered as the beginning of both your lives together- so it had better be monumental. Once a date is set, itâ??s time to plan your reception. Making your wedding memorable should be determined your personality as a couple and not by a budget or lack thereof.
While some â??extremeâ? couples prefer to exchange vows while skydiving, or share that first kiss dangling from a bungee cord, the distinguishing feature of your ceremony should come from the both of you. For those of us that prefer to keep our cold feet on the ground, this can mean a distinctive theme for the reception, a non-conventional locale, or even an over the top period-inspired wardrobe.
First, ask yourself what about the two of you makes yours a special romance. Once youâ??ve brainstormed a bit and come up with some ideas, choose one that you both can agree on and highlight that in the ceremony. Some couples who have spent their courtship gazing at the New York skyline, for instance, choose to exchange their vows atop a skyscraper. Some others prefer to hold their nuptials on the sandy shores of an exotic paradise.
Planning for a wedding requires the input from both of you. This means goes from picking the reception hall to the florist and photographers. Remember, there are two of you walking down the aisle, and what could be a worse way to start a marriage than one partner grumblingly dragging their feet because they had no input into the decision-making process.
Once youâ??ve made the decision to decide together, you can begin to make a checklist of everything that you will need for the ceremony, as well as a budget so that you know how much you can afford to spend. Youâ??re starting a new life together and, naturally, youâ??re going to need money. Be wary of wedding day extravagances – keep it tasteful, elegant, and within your price range.
Once youâ??ve figured out a budget and have a preliminary checklist youâ??re ready to begin planning the nuts and bolts of the ceremony. Thereâ??s so many websites that can help you plan your big day, but with so much information available itâ??s easy to get confused – how do you know who to listen to?
In addition to offering an online wedding planner, most bridal wedding websites provide forums and message boards for would-be brides and grooms to discuss everything from honeymoon destinations to poetry for the invitations. Brides and grooms often start blogs to record everything leading up to the day. The Internet allows couples to share advice, suggestions, photos and even video.
The â??Weddingsâ?? section of New York magazine online offers tips for creating a unique ceremony in one of four styles, ranging from the â??Sandals and Daisiesâ? wedding (which suggests Central Parkâ??s Swedish Cottage and Shakespeare Garden as a possible venue) to the â??Elegant Grown-Up Affairâ? (which suggests Columbia Universityâ??s Faculty House as a possible locale). The site also provides recommendations for apropos poetry and/or literature to be read at the event, as well as musical selections in keeping with your sense of style.
Brides.com determines your â??wedding styleâ? based on your responses to a personality quiz, and then makes recommendations based on your responses. After discovering my wedding style (â??Faraway Brideâ?) the site presented me with an article on how to plan a beach wedding. While the idea of getting hitched on a beautiful beach is appealing, Iâ??d have be sure to take residency rules for marriage into account. (some countries require you to stay for a number of days before you can be wed).
Brides.com also has a similar quiz that reveals the respondentâ??s â??registry styleâ? which, in my case, is â??Practical & Non-Traditional,â? so, the emphasis is on long-term planning. This site explained that I might consider registering with the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Developmentâ??s Bridal Registry Program, which would allow my guests to contribute what they wouldâ??ve spent on a wedding gift toward a down payment on a new home. How many married couples do you think would have opted for this, if they had the chance to do it all over again?

Another website, manhattanbride.com, the online counterpart of the popular publication, provides ample suggestions for engaged couples. Their wedding planner service provides a guideline that starts approximately 6-12 months before the date of the ceremony, and consists of a step by step timeline that walks the couple through the entire process, from hiring the officiant (who should be chosen as far in advance as possible – priests and judges have schedules too) to confirming airport transportation for the honeymoon flight.
D Weddings.com provides an excellent â??Frequently Asked Questionsâ? page that explains, in detail, things like what to discuss when you meet with your officiant, or even what menu items will appease both your vegetarian friends from the East Village and your omnivorous friends from Texas. One particularly insightful comment that turned up on the D Weddings website referred to a common difficulty for many a soon-to-be-married couple: Since many of the coupleâ??s friends and family have never met, how can the couple ensure that they will all socialize at the ceremony and reception? The website recommends that itâ??s a good idea to schedule a pre-wedding get together so that everyone will at least have met once before the big day, and to seat guests at the reception by common interests- and of course to get the conversation rolling yourself, like any good host.
TheKnot.com provides online tools for its members that consist of an online wedding checklist (like the one discussed earlier), a budget calculator, guest list tools, and a wedding website to keep your thoughts organized and your guests informed. The budget calculator is of particular value since all the couple has to do is enter their total budget for the event and it will automatically eliminate options well out of their price range, as well as tailor its recommendations to their tax-bracket.
Some of the most elegant and memorable ceremonies have been done on a budget, and once the two of you have decided on one, prepared your checklist, and made the stylistic decisions for your day, its time to set your plan into motion. Divvying up responsibilities between the both of you (and of course a few relatives, and close friendsâ?¦and even the occasional hired professional) becomes necessary to ensure youâ??re getting the most done on the least amount of time. Try to maximize your planning by booking appointments that are physically located close to one another on the same day (but donâ??t overextend yourself either). By working together and dividing the responsibilities youâ??re laying the groundwork for a long and successful marriage. Trust and communication are the cornerstones of any successful relationship, and itâ??s important to keep this in mind while planning the day that will signify the most important relationship you will ever be a part of.
