Are They Skipping Series of Your Profile?

without comments

Let’s begin with your Profile as ?home plate’. If you ever want to get to first base with any dream partner you better have a killer Title and a magnetic Profile. Each person has unique features of his/her personality and their profile should reflect these. A home run is developed over time, but it all begins here with the Profile.

There are some pretty tired words being used in profiles. Yeah, we all like to “eat dinners out”, and take “long walks on a beach” or “in the park”. Let’s try to be different. And even if some people really DO think you’re gorgeous or handsome, it’s in poor taste to mention it and comes off like bragging. So that’s a skip; they’ll move on to the next profile. One I read even claimed he has never had a cavity! (What’s his point?).

I’m trying to say that there isn’t much originality in any of these lines. Most are overused. One-upmanship takes a fresh approach. But not all of us are writers — we know that. There isn’t a writer alive that hasn’t stared at a white sheet of paper, or in this case a white screen, at one time or another. But like everything else, there is help if you look for it.

As I read a series of profiles, I really wonder if they are addressing a target date. When you have a particular dream date in mind, your profile must be geared to attracting him/her. If you are not interested in partnering with single moms, you must design your words to imply that. If your preference is a tallish guy with all his hair, you have to find a way to hint at this without being blatantly obvious or hurtful.

If you have faults that friends find annoying, it’s best to be upfront with them rather than go through weeks of correspondence only to be rejected and find yourself back to first base.

Let’s understand the written word; aside from the dangers of being misread or misinterpreted, words on paper are totally one-dimensional. Unlike meeting someone at a party or a cocktail lounge, your words have no tone, no body language, and no facial expression. In creative writing courses, one of the most important lessons is to write hypnotic sentences. Poets learn quickly how to “move a reader” making someone laugh, cry, or reminisce about a past experience. They do all this with mere words.

As online dating moves from profile, to first response, to contact by phone, to eventually meeting — each level now has one added element; voice, body language, facial expression and tone. Now you have plenty of cues as to your next move — or not. But this advantage takes time to acquire. In the meantime, you must depend on words to express your feelings and create an image in the mind of your reader.

Lastly; photos. It’s a given that if you don’t include one, your profile is dead in the water. It’s sorta like the First Amendment — it makes everyone think you’re guilty even if you’re not. The most common fear is that you’re married and don’t want a spouse, family or neighbors to see your picture on a dating site. Another skip!

Realize this: not everyone in online dating is movie-star material. But if you post a photo with sunglasses and a baseball cap, or as some gals do — with hair hanging over ½ of the face, people will get suspicious. Black & White photos went out of style about 40 years ago, so if yours is not in color — we wonder if you dug out your high school yearbook picture. These are big-time skips.

Because millions join online dating every month, it should be fun. We choose a complementary photo, write personal profiles and join our choice of dating programs. Surely among all of our responses is the one we’re looking for. If this doesn’t happen, often the mistake we make is submitting the same photo and profile into a new dating program with the same results.

Taking Advantage of Public WiFi Hotspots

without comments

If you are a road warrior away from your home town you may not have an easily accessible place to find an Internet connection for your laptop enabling access to the Internet world to get your email, read reports, work on Excel spreadsheets and send off a Power Point presentation. That’s where WiFi ?hotspots’ come into our picture, something we touched on before. These are wireless networks that can be very convenient.

Many cities have jumped on the bandwagon of providing WiFi throughout the downtown core. Enabling business people to use this facility provides a boost to the local economy.

There is a cost to the municipality of doing this, of course. They need a provider to set up and maintain the network. The physical structure of the network has to take the size and layout of the city, tree cover, landscape and other factors into consideration. I read a recent article which addressed the problems some major cities are having with WiFi zones. Chicago and L.A. have given up because it is too costly resulting from advertising revenue projections being too high.

Of course you can always go to the over-priced coffee shop where asking for a regular coffee brings a blank stare.

Before you ride merrily off to the next burg you need to know if your hardware will support WiFi. A wireless network uses radio waves just like cell phones, televisions and radios do. In fact, communication across a wireless network is a lot like two-way radio communication.

Here’s what happens:
1. A computer’s wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits it using an antenna.

2. A wireless router receives the signal and decodes it. It sends the information to the Internet using a physical, wired Ethernet connection.

The process also works in reverse, with the router receiving information from the Internet, translating it into a radio signal and sending it to the computer’s wireless adapter. As long as they all have wireless adapters, several devices can use one router to connect to the Internet. This connection is convenient and virtually invisible, and it’s fairly reliable. If the router fails or if too many people try to use high-bandwidth applications at the same time, however, users can experience interference or lose their connections.

If you want to take advantage of public WiFi hotspots, the first thing you’ll need to do is make sure your computer has the right wireless gear. Most new laptops and many new desktop computers come with built-in wireless transmitters. If your laptop doesn’t, you can buy a wireless adapter that plugs into the PC card slot or USB port. Desktop computers can use USB adapters, or you can buy an adapter that plugs into the PCI slot inside the computer’s case. Many of these adapters can use more than one 802.11 standard.

Once you’ve installed your wireless adapter and the drivers that allow it to operate, your computer should be able to automatically discover existing networks. This means that when you turn your computer on in a WiFi hotspot, the computer will inform you that the network exists and ask whether you want to connect to it. If you have an older computer, you may need to use a software program to detect and connect to a wireless network.

The question might be asked as to why not use a web-enabled PDA device. They are wonderful for most emailing but they are problematic when it comes to opening attachments or working with lengthy reports. The screen is so small you can get a headache just from squinting at them too long. And your typing skills can drop dramatically so that your messages can be almost unintelligible. So for the ?heavy-duty’ stuff a laptop that can access WiFi becomes not just convenient but a necessity.

Wireless Creates a Faster Networ

without comments

Wireless networks are fast. With VoIP, you can create a network that incorporates data, audio, video, and computer web features. You can easily monitor your network for problems and troubleshooting is much simpler with web-based applications rather than hardware applications. VoIP uses less bandwidth than other applications and this in the long run saves money. This is of special value to businesses. Businesses can also provide better customer service with integrated programs. Not only does this increase productivity, but also it saves time and money in the long run.

VoIP Saves You Money

Overall, VoIP is much more inexpensive then PSTN. You simply pay for your Internet service, and then whichever VoIP provider you choose. For a one time monthly fee, you can have unlimited local and long distance phone calls. You will need to check with the VoIP service provider that you choose for exact details on their rates. Sometimes, your VoIP service provider will allow free calls within the world to another computer, yet there may be a fee for calls worldwide to a landline phone. Always check with your chosen service provider for exact details regarding your chosen plan. Included in many VoIP service plans are free features. These features include Voicemail, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Do Not Disturb, and more. Again, check with your chosen service provider for an overview of all the features bundled with your plan. The biggest benefit is the unlimited long distance calling. This has proven to be the number one reason why most businesses are switching to VoIP. For businesses such as sales or jobs that have mobile employees, these benefits go without saying. But overall, the average cost of VoIP is considerably less when compared to the cost of PSTN.

VoIP Enables you to Talk with More than One Person at a Time

With VoIP, you can talk with more than one person without paying extra for services such as three way calling. With VoIP you can have more than three people on the phone at once. VoIP is the perfect solution for those who want to explore the features of conference calls. This is very important for businesses that have employees overseas. By using the video conferencing features, employers will increase their productivity.

Enjoy Greater Flexibility

by using VoIP, you can take your VoIP equipment with you whenever you travel. Your VoIP service provider will send you a converter that will allow you to use your converter with any standard telephone. The converter comes programmed with your telephone number, allowing you to take your phone and phone number with you worldwide. All you will need is a high speed Internet connection and you can use your VoIP phone service. This is of extreme benefit to mobile employees. No longer are outdated telecommunications systems necessary, or are employees trying to run businesses on prepaid cell phone plans. By using VoIP, an employee will have access to his/her phone number, wherever they are located. Whether out of state, in a hotel, or traveling on a business trip, customers will be able to call the same number as well as leave voice mail on the employeeâ??s computer.

You can Save Money for Family and Friends by Choosing Your Area Code

Many VoIP service providers will give you the option of selecting your own area code number. This is a tremendous benefit to family and friend members who can call you locally, if you select the same area code number.

Earn Big Money with the Google Adwords & Adsense Goldmine

without comments

Most of the Internet marketing community is at least somewhat familiar with Google Adsense. Google Adsense can be a very lucrative venture for some… So having a better understanding of Adsense is definitely worth your time if you’re interested in large affiliate revenues requiring minimal effort.

Google Adsense Ads are small contextual ads that are published on web sites with the consent of the web site’s owner. The ads are created by publishers that are selling products and/or creating brand awareness. The ads that are created are called Adwords and they are also a Google sponsored program.

Google Adwords and Adsense run hand in hand. Every time someone does a search on Google or one of their partner networks and clicks on one of the sponsored ads, the person who created that ad will pay Google a predetermined price. This is also known as “pay per click” advertising.

Now the beauty of Adsense is that the person who owns or hosts the web site that the Adwords ads appear on will split the amount of money that Google receives from the creator of the ad. It is a well-guarded secret what the percentage of the split is, and it does vary, but for our purposes let’s say it’s 50%.

If a publisher is willing to pay 40 cents per click for his Adwords ad, then the host of the website that publishes Adsense ads can expect to see roughly 20 cents every time someone clicks on that ad that appears on their site. Google keeps the other 20 cents. So basically it is a partnership of sorts between Google and web site publisher/owner.

Adsense is shown in the most relevant way possible. What does this mean? Well, probably the best way to illustrate this would be through an example. Let’s say Mary had a website featuring women’s clothing. If Mary wanted to monetize her web site with Google Adsense the ads that would be shown would all be related to clothing, and more precisely, women’s clothing. If a page of her site was dedicated to shoes, then the Adsense ads appearing on that page would be for women’s shoes.

So how is the price per click determined? This is where the Adwords side of the equation kicks in. Adwords advertisers bid on keywords. The more lucrative or sought after a keyword is, the more the advertiser will be willing to pay for each click. Keywords range anywhere from a few cents to in excess of $50 per click!

It’s not hard to see how someone with a web site that generates a decent amount of traffic can make some nice money by putting Google Adsense on their site. Many Internet marketers will create web sites with specific content for the sole purpose of attracting high paying Adsense ads. Top Internet marketers earn in excess of $10,000 a month with Adsense, and you can too. It’s free to sign up and give it a try so do it today!

Web Site Promotion — Six Important Key Press Release Facts – Long Version

without comments

A great publicity campaign starts with courage, then planning, and lastly, it succeeds through persistence. If you’re not sure why you should seek fame, consider fortune because the two go hand in hand.
Fame will bring your business into the forefront of your target audience faster than any advertising campaign can hope to do. It solidifies you as an expert and creates a deep, abiding confidence in the consumer. It makes you a shining star with infinite possibilities. So what are the steps you ask? Well paste a gold star to your forehead and let’s get started.
1. Press Releases:
Increase awareness through a press release. Yes, I know, press releases have become quite the popular little tool around cyberspace with releases being blasted hither and there, but are they working? Probably not. Blasting your press release will bring blasted little results. Instead, thoughtfully put together a very dynamic one-page press release and target publications that would be most interested in you and your business. Don’t drone out the details; make that press release sing your praises. Then send it to a real live editor and follow up with a phone call. In other words, let the press release be the invitation to your follow up phone call. Begin making connections with the media. Be polite, be excited, and be patient.
2. Create A Press Kit:
A Press kit is basically an exaggerated press release turned into a package. It’s more complex, tells more about you and your company, and is all pulled together into a nice neat folder. Of all the questions I receive, first is, what is a press kit? Simply, it is a folder of information about you or your business. It should contain:
A. An Introduction Letter
B. One or Two Press Releases
C. A Fact Sheet
(This contains the facts about you or your business.)
D. Bio Sheet
(Which is a biography of you and your accomplishments.)
E. Copies of Published Articles
F. Company Literature
G. A Business Card
Send your press kit when an editor, publisher, or producer wants to know more about you.
3. Newsletters Offline.
Don’t forget that a whole world exists offline. Locate newsletters or smaller print publications offline and submit articles. This can be a very dynamic way to increase your exposure as well as add to your press kit. You can locate newsletters in your subject area by visiting the local university library reference section. Ask for a directory of trade newsletters and do your research. Once you have been published, it’s easier to step up to the larger publications. Fame starts small and then snowballs onto itself.
4. Speak Up!
Yep, that’s right. Start giving speeches on your area of expertise. Start locally at civic clubs and local educational programs. Then find the local talk radio shows and make your case to the producer. It’s surprising how many talk radio shows are actively looking for new speakers. Once you have achieved Talk Radio, the opportunities will start coming to you.
5. Publicity Pitches:
Put together several dynamic article ideas. Just the ideas, not the actual article. This is called a Publicity Pitch. Take those ideas and then pitch them to editors of targeted publications. This can work very well as it saves Editors time and puts the outline right into their hands. As a past Editor I know how well this works. Editors love ideas, especially ideas that are completely outlined and correct for their readership. This means don’t send pet article ideas to cooking magazines. Send pet articles ideas to pet publications. Seems like a no brainer, huh? But you’d be amazed at what editors see that don’t apply to their own publication.
Fame comes from planning and persistence. It has its rejections, but if you can learn not to take it personally, it will eventually work. Remember, once you start, keep going. Once you stop, you have to start all over.

Understanding the Concept of GPS Car Tracking Systems

without comments

GPS navigation systems have proved to be beneficial for both personal as well as commercial purposes. In a relatively less time, they have managed to capture the interests of many individuals and businesses.

GPS auto tracking systems are easy to install and in no time. You just have to approach a reputed GPS service provider to get the job done.

Auto Tracking:

GPS car tracking systems come in two categories namely ‘real-time systems’ and ‘passive systems.’

‘Real-time’ systems transfer the data towards the operator at regular intervals and the user can then read the data through the operator’s web site.

On the other hand, in ‘passive systems’, you have to manually download the data from the car, when the car gets back to home. This system is greatly beneficial for parents, who wish to know about the entire day’s whereabouts.

A GPS car tracking system also employs the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) network and includes a wide range of satellites using microwave signals. These signals are then transmitted to the GPS devices. This way, GPS tracking systems furnish information about the vehicle’s speed, time, location and direction.

GPS car tracking systems have an effective tracking quality and are very useful in case of car thefts. For instance, in case of car theft, you just have to inform the GPS service provider (carrier), who will then track down the location of your car within minutes.

Apart from furnishing information about positions and maps, GPS tracking systems will also provide you with other necessary information about restaurants and gas stations. Some GPS tracking systems come with more advanced features such as they provide traffic information.

At present, GPS auto tracking devices are being increasingly used for both civilian as well as military purposes.

Orlando Transportation

without comments

The main component of a healthy human civilization is the flow of its transportation. Transportation of people, products and services throughout the society to serve humanity is an integral part of any nation or state. The flow of transport has been discussed in committees, focus groups, association meetings, think-tanks, government agencies and even at the kitchen table for many years. It is one of the major issues of importance to any civilization. During my travels around the country about 500,000 miles visiting each city in the United States and Canada for more than 10,000 people and compliance with traffic, often stuck in them for several hours in large cities and listen to the people and citizens in the suburbs and rural areas, the problem of buses. I began to look at traffic with a much larger eye. I began to see the good, the bad and the ugly. Realize that all of us to use some form of bypass operations, even if it is the power of the people, like Lance Armstrong, well, maybe not so quickly, but some of us still peddle to the store, at work or in town. It was not so long ago that a fast and reliable horse was to be. And now, my mission today is to open this discussion with a description of my observations and knowledge of transport, and you reflect on your observations during his visit to the neighborhood. As you drive through the city today or tomorrow, I think, on this subject, and how vital it is critical to our civilization.

As noted in our current set of transport systems and how they interact with us and get from point A to point B, we see that it greatly impacts on our daily lives. Obviously, my comments about the traffic flow will be different from you and yours is that from relatives and neighbors, the various aspects of the same set of interacting systems of transportation. You can even have some great ideas to help us to correct and change the flow of transport to help the most number of people it serves. Maybe you can find the key to better, if there is not a component, you improve the efficiency of transport and, thus, improving the flow of civilization and the quality of life and standard of living.

Because the transportation system is an integral part of how we live and work. This is truly a modern miracle. For each minor increase its effectiveness is the exponential growth in our lives. Teach your children to be observant of traffic movements and to understand its meaning. The flow of transportation has helped our nation become all that we have today, and we must maintain our systems, if our civilization is to work properly.
